Roll And Go
02:59
|
|||
Now we are ready to head for the horn
Way-hey roll and go
Our boots and our clothes are all in pawn
To me rollickin' randy-dandy oh
Heave a pawl, heave away
Way-hey roll and go
The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored
To me rollickin' rand-dandy oh
Soon we'll be warping her out through the lock
Way-hey roll and go
Where the pretty young girls come down in their flocks
To me rollickin' rand-dandy oh
Heave a pawl, heave away
Way-hey roll and go
The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored
To me rollickin' rand-dandy oh
Roll and go! Come breast the bar bullies.
Roll and go! And heave her away.
Roll and go! Soon we'll be rolling.
Roll and go! Be rolling her way down the bay.
Roll and go! Sing goodbye to Sally.
Roll and go! And sing goodbye to Sue.
Roll and go! For we are the boys.
Roll and go! The boys who can kick her through.
Roll and go! Oh man the stout capstain.
Roll and go! And heave with a will.
Roll and go! Soon we'll be driving.
Roll and go! Be driving her way down the hill.
Roll and go! Heave away bullies.
Roll and go! You parish rigged bums.
Roll and go! Take your hands from your pockets.
Roll and go! And don't you suck your thumbs.
Roust her up bullies the wind's drawing free
Way-hey roll and go
Get your glad rags on and we'll drive her to sea
To me rollickin' rand-dandy oh
Heave a pawl, heave away
Way-hey roll and go
The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored
To me rollickin' rand-dandy oh
Heave a pawl, heave away
Way-hey roll and go
The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored
To me rollickin' rand-dandy oh.

Jim Jones

Listen to my story, listen to my tale
Across the sea from England I was condemned to sail
A jury found me guilty and the judge said to me
For life, boy, I'm sending you across the sea
But take a little warning before you join the gang
One day you're gonna mess up boy and then you're gonna hang
One day you're gonna hang boy and then Jim Jones
Well up on the gallows the crows will pick your bones
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
The winds were high upon the sea when pirates came along
But the soldiers on our convict ship were five hundred strong
The soldiers soon drove those pirates away
Oh god I'd rather've been a pirate than gone to Botany Bay
The waves were high and the rain poured in gales
I wish I'd died right there and then than gone to New South Wales
No chance for mischief there believe me when I say
They'll beat the poaching out of you on Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
Day and night in irons like poor galley slaves
We toil and we toil just to fill dishonoured graves
But soon I'll slip my chains and to the bush I'll go
Join those bush-rangers Jack Donoghue and co
Then one dark night when all is quiet in the town
I'll get my captors one and all, I'll gun the floggers down
I'll give them all a little taste, believe me when I say
They'll regret the day they put me on Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay
On Botany Bay

One girl likes to dress in red with ribbons in her hair
She dances like a summer breeze, as light as morning air
The other likes to dress in white and runs so speedily
And sings so sweetly she can charm the birds down from the trees
One girl likes to catch your eye then quickly look away
She teases with a gentle smile and holds you in her sway
The other likes take your hand and lead you through the night
And lay you down upon a bed of purest blossom white
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Fall prey to seduction and satisfy them well
They'll entice you every night until you break the spell
Their loveliness will phase you but they'll never let you see
That behind each girl's a hollow trunk, a black and rotting tree
The red girl will pluck out your eyes and wear them as her own
She will make you beg and cry and wish you'd stayed at home
The white girl will cut out your tongue and sing a tune so fine
They have lured many men and left them mute and blind
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never take a glass of wine with these sisters two
They'll tear apart your body 'til there's nothing left of you
The red girl will drain your blood to dye her dresses in
The white girl will carve your bones and wear your teeth as skin
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home
Never stray far from home

John's Gone To Hilo
02:54
|
|||
Never seen such a sight since I was born
As a big buck navvy with his sea boots on when
John's Gone to Hilo
Poor old man
Oh wake her, and shake her,
And wake that girl with the blue dress on when
John's Gone to Hilo
Poor old man
I have a little girl across the sea
She's a 'badian beauty and she says to me well
John's Gone to Hilo
Poor old man
Oh wake her, and shake her
And wake that girl with the blue dress on when
John's Gone to Hilo
Poor old man
Were you ever in Mobile Bay
A-screwin' cotton on a summer's day when
John's Gone to Hilo
John's Gone to Hilo
John's Gone to Hilo
John's Gone to Hilo
John's Gone to Hilo
John's Gone to Hilo
Poor old man

Deeper Well
03:16
|
|||
The sun burned hot, it burned my eyes
Burned so hot I thought I'd died
Thought I'd died and gone to hell
Looking for the water in a deeper well
I went to the river but the river was dry
Fell to my knees, looked to the sky
Looked to the sky, the spring rain fell
I saw the water from a deeper well
Well, well, well, well
Looking for the water from a deeper well
I was ready for love, I was ready for the money
Ready for blood, I was ready for the honey
Ready for the winning, ready for the bell
Looking for the water from a deeper well
I found some love and I found some money
Found that blood would drip from the honey
Found I had a thirst that I could not quell
Looking for the water from a deeper well
Well, well, well, well
Looking for the water from a deeper well
Well I did it for kicks, I did it for faith
I did it for lust, I did it for hate
I did it for need, I did it for love
Addiction stayed on tight like a glove
So I ran with the moon and I ran with the night
The three of us were a terrible sight
Nipple to the bottle to the gun to the cell
To the bottom of a hole of a deeper well
I rocked with the cradle and I rolled with the rage
I shook those walls and I rattled that cage
I took my troubles down a dead-end trail
Reaching out a hand for a holier grail
Hey there mother did you carry that load
Did you tell your boy about the bend in the road
'Bout the rebel yell, 'bout the one that fell
Looking for the water from a deeper well
Well, well, well, well
Looking for the water from a deeper well
Looking for the water from a deeper well
Looking for the water from a deeper well
Looking for the water from a deeper well

In The Bullingdon Club
03:07
|
|||
Down, down at The Dog and Duck
There with all of the bros
Pissing in the corner, spilling champagne
When you've got enough dosh you know that anything goes
Well in comes Alex, powder on his lip
He's giving his knees a rub
He learned everything he knows in The Bullingdon Club
Everything he knows in The Bullingdon Club
He learned everything he knows in The Bullingdon Club
Then in step I, a platter held high
A twelve bird roast I said
You should've seen Dave's face when he pulled back the cloche
Revealed a dead pig's head
He was five inches deep when the landlord came in
And tried to ban us from his pub
But we learned everything we know in The Bullingdon Club
Everything we know in The Bullingdon Club
We learned everything we know in The Bullingdon Club
So we beat that man
And left him bleeding on the floor
Smashed all the windows, wrote him a cheque
You know they're easy to pay off when they're poor
Meanwhile Gid's outside burning fifty-pound notes
At the beggar as he rattles his tub
For he learned everything he knows in The Bullingdon Club
Everything he knows in The Bullingdon Club
He learned everything he knows in The Bullingdon Club
Now you say I brought this country to its knees
Oh but it's still fois gras and caviar for me
And you say I'm out of touch and I don't know how you feel
But then again you've never shaken hands on a trillion pound
Nuclear arms deal
I learned everything I know in The Bullingdon Club
Everything I know in The Bullingdon Club
I learned everything I know in The Bullingdon Club
Everything I know in The Bullingdon

The Old Dun Cow
03:59
|
|||
My friends and I in a public house playing dominoes last night
When all of a sudden the potman comes his face was like a kite
"What's wrong," says Brown, "have you seen a ghost? Have you seen your aunt Marhiah?"
"Oh me aunt Mariah be buggered," says he, "The bleeding pub's on fire."
"On fire," says Brown, "what a bit of luck, come along and follow me.
"Down in the cellar if the fire's not there we'll have a rare old spree."
So we all went down and we followed brown, beer we could not miss,
And we had not spent ten minutes there 'til we were all like this,
Oh there was Brown upside down, mopping up the whisky on the floor.
"Booze! Booze!" the firemen cried as they came knocking at the door,
Oh don't let 'em in 'til it's all mopped up. Somebody shouted "MacIntyre!"
And we all got blue-blind paralytic drunk when The Old Dun Cow caught fire.
Well we got so drunk that we did not know half the bleeding pub had caught fire,
Old Johnson had the DTs bad and wanted to retire.
Just then we heard an almighty crash, half the bleeding roof gave way,
We were caught in a firemen's hose but still we were all gay.
"Oh let's get out," says a blind-eyed boy, "it's getting rather hot down here."
"Don't be a fool," says a boozy bloke, "we've not drunk all the beer."
So we grabbed some sacks and some old tin tacks and we shoved ourselves inside,
And we got drinking that good old scotch 'til we were bleary eyed.
At last the firemen got inside, found us all dead drunk,
But like true heroes there they stood they did not do a bunk,
They saw the booze upon the floor, gave a massive yell,
They took their helmets off and then upon their knees they fell.
"At last, at last," the firemen cried, "At last we know the news."
"Come on come on," cried all us lads, "Come on and have a booze."

Coats Off For Britain
03:34
|
|||
Coats off, coats off
Coats off for Britain there's a battle to be won
On the stock exchange and on the dole
Selling garden gnomes and digging coal
It's coats off, coats off,
Coats off for Britain everyone
Coats off for Britain says her majesty
From the bottom of her very gracious heart
Trying to boost the nation with a royal proclamation
To encourage everyone to play their part
But as politicians palter and the bills remain unpaid
Her step will never falter and her smile will never fade
Dutifully doing what she's born and bred to do
Working hard from morn 'til late
Receiving dreary heads of state
Arranging royal weddings and a royal birth or two
For me and you
To see us through
And on the royal yacht Britannia they'll be singing this
Coats off, coats off
Coats off for Britain there's a battle to be won
On the stock exchange and on the dole
Selling garden gnomes and digging coal
It's coats off, coats off,
Coats off for Britain everyone
Coats off for Britain says the business man
Flying to his island in the sun
Trying to boost the nation with a cure for constipation
Got to keep the British worker on the run
He's a patriotic gentleman just put him to the test
All he needs is the incentive and in Britain he'll invest
Of course if taxes take their toll and strikes become a strain
And profit margins start to shrink
He'll have to have another think
And maybe move his money into property in Spain
He's not to blame
You'd do the same
And from his overseas tax haven he'll be singing this
Coats off, coats off
Coats off for Britain there's a battle to be won
On the stock exchange and on the dole
Selling garden gnomes and digging coal
It's coats off, coats off,
Coats off for Britain everyone
Coast off for Britain says the working man
Delivering Deliveroos non-stop
Trying to boost the nation with a dash of perspiration
But he'll never climb the ladder to the top
Now the country is in crisis so don't strike for higher pay
We must all make sacrifices and work harder every day
We've got to pull our belts in it's the same for rich and poor
Today the shelves are empty
But tomorrow there'll be plenty
It's the same old song we've heard it sung a million times before
In peace and war
Don't ask for more
And through his zero hours contract he'll be singing this
Coats off, coats off
Coats off for Britain there's a battle to be won
On the stock exchange and on the dole
Selling garden gnomes and digging coal
It's coats off, coats off,
Coats off for Britain everyone
It's coats off, coats off,
Coats off for Britain everyone
